Visit Champa Sculpture Museum – a unique museum not only of Danang, Vietnam but also of the whole world – even between rainy days or sunny day, morning or afternoon, visitors still get a very private atmosphere in this place, due to its characteristic always remain: the quiet of memories.
Located at the intersection near the junction of two most beautiful streets of Da Nang, the Museum was officially started construction in July 1915 with the support of the ancient Far East Institute in Bac Co, Hanoi. In 1936 building work was completed. In 2002, the museum was renovated and extended. Currently, the museum has a total area of 6,673 m², which includes part of an exhibition area of 2,000 m².
There are nearly 2,000 of both big and small artifacts in Champa Sculpture Museum of Da Nang, including 288 artifacts are exhibited inside the museum (which is divided into many galleries include: My Son, Tra Kieu, Dong Duong, Thap Mam and its corridors in Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Kon Tum, Quang Binh and Binh Dinh ), 187 artifacts exhibited outside and more than 1,200 ones currently stored in the warehouse.
Visiting the museum, one can see the golden past of a people whose passion and creativity in the arts are at a very high proficiency. Mystery divine world, the story with photographs, religious symbols, curve body of the dancer, full round breasts, the smiles with waft of time, etc are all alive, detailed and extremely sexy.
The museum with Gothique architecture is in harmony with the surrounding space, that is one points of interests for travelers to visit Da Nang or is an indispensable place in the list of visiting addresses of tourists to Danang.
